C0lleague and friend Jim Courtney of Skype Journal has some fiddlin' with Skype's new Skype 2.7 for Mac OS X

on his to-do list.

Specifically, Jim's fully intending to test what Skype claims is the new "whopping video resolution of 640 x 480 pixels by default with up to 25 frames per second."

Jim writes:

I'll be looking to test out the video calling with all my acquaintances who have been caught up the recent outbreak of Mac fever to discover how it performs with a Windows user with High Quality Video. I would also appreciate confirmation that the issues with Leopard have been resolved.

"If your webcam can handle this resolution you’ll soon be appearing in an improved and bigger format on friends screens," Skype gloats on the download page for this new rev.

Well, we'll see. Any of your readers test the new Skype 2.7 for Mac OS X yet?
