According to a threadpost I've just dug up on the Skype Forum, the company is working on video capability for its softphone.

This line of discussion started last month, when Skype Forum member "CrazyItalian1988" kicked off the thread by writing:

"Skype is the best utility yet that I have discovered, basically because its P2P. If it supported video,it would be one of the best, if not the best, chat client on the Web."

To that admonition, a poster identifying himself as Skype Staff member "terminus" responded:

"We are working on it, as we are working on a million other things. We are aware that video is one of the most highly requested features."

Terminus declined to specify a rollout date.

Would you use a Skype video softphone. Post a TalkBack and let us know.
