SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry will be shown at CES

I personally am a big fan of the Slingbox and SlingPlayer Mobile clients. I use the device and these clients every time I travel to watch my recorded content or watch shows that are playing on my home TV. I just recently purchased a Nokia N95-3 that comes with a free SlingPlayer Mobile client and couldn't be happier with it. For all of you business users that have BlackBerry devices you will be pleased to know that SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry is coming later in 2008 (for the same US$29.99 as the other mobile clients) and will be shown running on a BlackBerry Pearl next week at CES.

I'll be stopping by the Sling Media booth on Sunday to check it out in person.

Sling Media is also announcing the Slingbox PRO-HD that will include multiple inputs and outputs, including digital audio and a digital (ATSC/QAM) tuner. Not only will the Slingbox PRO-HD stream up to 1080i content and 5.1 surround within the home to a computer, it can also be used to ship high-def material to another HDTV via the forthcoming SlingCatcher (which they were actually showing off at CES 2007). The Slingbox PRO-HD is slated for a Q3 2008 release for US$399.99.
