SmartDisk to buy VST

Storage vendor SmartDisk Corp. on Thursday announced that it has agreed to acquire VST Technologies Inc. for 1.523 million shares of SmartDisk stock and $16.5 million in cash. Acton, Mass.-based VST, which develops a variety of FireWire and Universal Serial Bus storage devices for Macs and Windows systems, introduced a variety of new Mac wares at last week's Macworld Expo/Tokyo. -- Matthew Rothenberg, ZDNet News
