Parts of Penang have already been designated a cybercity.

Now, Shah Alam (a satellite city south of Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya) wants to have its own cybercity as well.

An official Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) cybercity is an area designated by the Multimedia Development Corporation to house MSC-status companies.

Such companies receive special incentives, namely 10-year tax breaks, to develop ICT-based businesses.

Shah Alam Mayor Mazalan Mohd Noor says: "We want to make Shah Alam the Bangalore of Malaysia."

Hmm... what about Penang or the original cybercity, Cyberjaya? I'm sure they want to become the Bangalore of Malaysia too.

How many Bangalores can we have in Malaysia?

Why not make the whole of Malaysia one massive cybercity?

So many questions. But no real good answers.
