Software+Services - creativity wins prizes

This video was made by Martin Shannon-Smith, created for the Imagine Cup to explain what it's really about. For a one-minute video created by a multimedia student, that's pretty damn good. I don't know anyone who could pull together something as simple, yet effective as that.

In light of this, I've been forwarded an email about the Software+Services "Bring it all together" promotion, asking students, IT professionals, or anybody else to submit a video, which "visualises the software-plus-services concept". All you need is this script, a bit of imagination, a video camera, and that's about it.

If you can get your head round what Software+Services actually is, I'd recommend you go for this. You get a free LifeCam camera and a t-shirt for your submission, a chance to have your video shown as part of 10 most viewed at Tech-Ed Malaysia 2008, and the final winner gets to spend a weekend at one of the poshest hotels on the peninsula.

Whether you want to host your video on your own website, whether you want to pop it on YouTube, they don't care - as long as it's up there and they know about it (see the website for more details), that's all that matters. Considering page-views count in this, if I see something that really catches my eye, I'll add the links to the bottom of this post as and when.

All the details are available at: www.bringitalltogether.asia, and you've got just over a month before the competition ends.
