Along with the svelte Sony Vaio X, the company also announced the Windows 7-powered Vaio CW laptop, a 14-inch middle-of-the-market model that offers up to a 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, Nvidia graphics and optional Blu-ray, starting at $799.

This 5.3-lb. laptop -- yep, it's pretty hefty, and is 1.52 inches at its thickest -- offers up to 500GB of storage, 8GB of RAM and the aforementioned Nvidia graphics, with up to 512MB of dedicated RAM.

Clearly intended for family multimedia, the laptop sports an LED-backlit LCD display, built-in webcam, an HDMI port and a DVD (Blu-ray optional) drive. That all comes at a price, however: the laptop manages just four hours of battery life, and only 2.5 hours with DVD playback.

In other words: fans of Casino will need that AC adapter.

The Vaio CW comes in four colors: red, pink, white and black. It starts at $799.
