LOS ANGELES -- Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. (sne) said on Wednesday it planned to launch its PlayStation2 computer entertainment system in North America on Oct. 26 with an initial shipment of 1 million units. The company, a unit of Sony Corp., announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo that the system would have a suggested retail price of $299.
