Spam recipe site buys Google AdWords.. in Gmail's Spam Menu

I usually don't write about Google here unless they are up to something convergence-wise- Wi-Fi, Google Talk, video, etc. After all, we have a don't miss, must-add-to-your-RSS feed Googling Google blog, written by my colleague Garett Rogers.

I usually don't write about Google here unless they are up to something convergence-wise- Wi-Fi, Google Talk, video, etc. After all, we have a don't miss, must-add-to-your-RSS feed Googling Google blog, written by my colleague Garett Rogers.

But this is just so precious I had to share it with you.

It appears that a company called Recipe Source has bought AdWords in Gmail's Spam message menu. Not only that, but the recipes they are announcing and linking to are for... spam-based dishes!

OK I will show you what I mean now.

Here's the first view I obtained when I checked my Gmail's Spam Menu late last night:

No, that wasn't a fluke. Here, let's try another:

To show you the link I need to capture the full page. But look down below, and you will see recipesource.

I was a bit skeptical so I decided to follow the link.

It's legit. Actually thinking of trying one or two of the recipes.

I don't only think this is a hoot- it is quite clever.

But what do you think? Post a TalkBack and let's discuss.
