Two new surveys about the online music downloading phenomenon show that the big winner is Napster, and the big loser is the music industry. With Napster founder Shawn Fanning on the cover of yet another magazine — this week it was Time — a report by AdRelevance shows that the media bonanza is translating into cash for the embattled company.

Venerable Pew Internet and American Life Project released a report Thursday that says 78 percent of the people surveyed say they have no ethical qualms about it.

Another report released Thursday by research company AdRelevance says that the more these music download companies get press, the more their traffic goes up. -- Lisa Napoli, MSNBC
