Symantec has made a deal with Symbian to help make the handheld specialist's operating system more secure. The two companies have created a partnership to help interaction between Symantec's internet security experts and Symbian technical teams to develop the next generation of Symbian OS. Steve Cullen, senior vice president of Symantec Consumer and Client Product Delivery, said security is a major concern for end users. In a statement, Cullen said: "Research has shown that fears about wireless security are a chief deterrent to the widespread adoption of mobile computing devices. By working closely with Symbian, Symantec can help propel the wireless industry forward by addressing this critical concern among potential users."
