Telstra has resigned its contract with mining and construction equipment manufacturer Komatsu.

As part of the agreement, worth AU$23 million over the next three years, Telstra will facilitate Komatsu's whole of business IT and machine to machine (M2M) strategy. This will include seeing Telstra provide telecommunications, such as voice, data, and mobile, as well as M2M and cloud technologies.

Komatsu Australia managing director and CEO Sean Taylor said the contract will build on a 15 year relationship between the two companies.

"We're committed to business innovation and staying one step ahead of our customer's needs - and it's only through relationships with key partners like Telstra that this is possible. We're excited about the next phase in our ICT strategy and look forward to many more years of innovation," he said.

The new deal replaces Komatsu and Telstra's previous contract that was signed back in 2010 for five years. Much similar to their new contract, Telstra was signed on to provide telecommunication and cloud services to Komatsu.
