Times says BT to buy Demon
According to reports, BT is about to buy the UK's leading dial-up Internet service, Demon Internet, in a deal estimated to be worth £60m.
Cliff Stanford, the company's CEO stands to make an estimated £30 million from the deal - not bad for the man who started the company from a boiler room in a cinema in Essex.
James Gardiner, Demon's marketing manager, would not comment on the deal. BT officials were unavailable for comment.
