A new build of Windows 7 has been leaked, a build that promises better stability and increased performance.

The latest build 7022 which is timestamped 090115-1850 (which is in the format YYMMDD-HHMM) is the first 2009 build of Windows 7 that I've seen so far (the beta build that Microsoft is currently distributing to testers is from December). I've not had any hands-on time with this new build yet but I'm told that I can expect to see the following improvements:

  • Overall performance improvements
  • Increased stability under certain conditions (ie, this build contains bug fixes ...)
  • Minor UI tweaks

Note: This leaked build is not official will not be made available by Microsoft to testers.

Stay tuned for more information ... I'll post screenshots and initial thoughts later.

Note: I'm also told that there's a later build 7032 timestamped 090129-1812 floating around. I've not seen this one so I can't comment.
