With Windows 7 now almost a year old, many organisations are starting to investigate whether to roll out Microsoft's latest desktop operating system.

silicon.com's own exclusive CIO Jury recently revealed that CIOs are now planning their Windows 7 deployments, and analyst Gartner is warning there will be a squeeze on IT budgets to pay for the move (and a corresponding pay boost for techies with Windows 7 migration skills).
