Wireless telephone subscriber growth in the United States jumped 24.3 percent to 86 million customers last year as prices rose modestly, an industry trade group said Tuesday. More than 16.8 million net new subscribers were added during 1999 -- or about one every two seconds, according to a study by the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association. -- Reuters
