XOSoft announced Monday the availability of an upgraded version of its WANSync and WANSyncHA platforms, which provide disaster recovery and high-availability protection over local and wide area enterprise networks. The new version offers improvements in security, usability and reporting and scheduling.

Both products back up databases and entire applications as well as files, and they offer a Data Rewind feature that allows data rollback to the most recent uncorrupted point. WANSyncHA uses continuous real-time replication for high availability.

WANSync 3.7 now supports IBM's AIX platform in addition to Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL, and Oracle platforms. Support for the Microsoft delegated security model is added in this release, enabling more granular IT security management and accommodating up to four user levels.

According to the company, the latest release improves performance by 45- to 60 percent through more efficient optimization of the client's network, and it adds usability features such as a synchronization scheduler.

An open API is now provided to allow better integration of WANSync and WANSyncHA with customer software.

Pricing for WANSync is $2,000 to $5,000 per license; for WANSyncHA it is $4,500 to $9,000 per license, depending on customer requirements.
