The Motorola Droid 2 Global is ready for purchase a bit earlier than expected with Verizon Wireless.

Last week, a rumor circulated that the Droid 2 Global would become available in two colors, but only the white version would be ready at initial launch time. Well...that's not really true as you can get the Droid 2 Global now in either black or white. Take your pick.

Apparently if you buy now, you can get up to three LG Ally phones for free...but you'll need to pay the activation fee and sign up for a 2-year plan for each device. Not such a great deal after all.

Also ready for CDMA, the quad-band GSM device is ready to roam around the world literally. First, you'll have to fork over $199 (after the $100 mail-in rebate) and sign a two-year contract with Verizon. Don't forget you'll also have to sign up for a smartphone data plan too. (Let's not even think about what you'll have to pay when you actually do tote this little guy out of the country.)
