A closer look at one geo-engineering proposal

It has been proposed that one way to curtail global warming is to put reflectors into the upper atmosphere, sending some of that solar radiation back out into space. Wait a minute, say some scientists. Let's re-think the idea of a solar sunshade. That idea could also lower the usefulness of solar power generation on the surface.

"Injecting particles into the stratosphere could have unintended consequences for one alternative energy source expected to play a role in the transition away from fossil fuels.” That's a quote from one of the NOAA researchers who's looked into the sunshade proposal.

Apparently the solar concentration systems would be the most vulnerable to reduced solar radiation if we started littering the skies with reflectors.
