Federal spending on broadband to libraries and schools totals $2.25 bln a year

New York Times in an article on new FCC regulations mentions the federal spending on broadband to bring Internet access to schools and libraries. $2.25 bln is spent each year in form of federal grants, and that amount covers only 60% of the necessary expenses, as told by the chief information officer of North Dakota.
