Kyocera prints from 0.4p per page

Kyocera is chanting the cost-per-page mantra again with the release of its latest laser printers.

The Ecosys III 12ppm FS-1700 (£1,220 + VAT list) and 18ppm FS 3700 (£1,599 + VAT) set a new low of 0.4 pence per page, according to the Japanese firm. Both are 600 x 600dpi units driven by a 33MHz processor and come with 2Mb RAM as standard.

The firm said it has reduced page cost by 20 per cent by using an optional high-capacity toner refill. As usual with Kyocera, the printer drum is guaranteed to last for the rated life of the printer.

Kyocera plans the Ecosys FS-7000, a 28ppm unit, for later in the year. The firm claims it will provide a greater paper capacity than any rival on the market.

Kyocera can be contacted by telephone on 01734-311500.
