Sky in world's smallest fibre trial

Upon hearing that BSkyB was trialling fibre-to-the-cabinet out in East London, I decided to give them a ring to find out what was going on. We know BT's trialling this stuff (well, fibre-all-the-way-to-the-home) in the Ebbsfleet development, but is Murdoch about to catch up?

Upon hearing that BSkyB was trialling fibre-to-the-cabinet out in East London, I decided to give them a ring to find out what was going on. We know BT's trialling this stuff (well, fibre-all-the-way-to-the-home) in the Ebbsfleet development, but is Murdoch about to catch up? Well, not really, by the sounds of things...

"We're the UK's fastest growing broadband provider and we're always exploring ways to give customers a better service. Our technical teams are working on a small-scale trial to explore the potential of sub-loop unbundling. No customers are involved and it's too early to say whether there will be a commercial launch."

No customers involved? Now that does define "small-scale". Not sure how useful it'll be, either...
