Fibre optic network remains strong, revenues not so good...

FiberNet Telecom's fibre optic network has survived the terrorist attack on New York the company announced on Wednesday. The company said its metropolitan carrier facilities are fully operational with no disruption in commercial power reported. It added that it did not predict any imminent interruption with its service. Meanwhile, the company this week said that because of the "challenging" telecoms market it was expecting third quarter revenue to fall between five and 10 per cent from Q2. FiberNet blamed the third-quarter sales slowdown on the bankruptcy of some of its clients. It added that it plans to raise between $10m and $15m through a sale of some of its assets.
