The International Civil Aviation Organisation, a United Nations-based group that oversees international aviation standards, said Monday it has asked the 185 UN member nations to report on their airports' Year 2000 readiness by the end of this week.

The data will be used by the U.S. State Department and Federal Aviation Administration to compile travel advisories UN officials said.
