Police called in over fraudulent Tax Office e-mail
The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has referred a fraudulent e-mail claiming to be from the ATO to the Australian Federal Police and warned people to delete it immediately from their computers.ATO second commissioner Greg Farr said the e-mail, which fraudulently used the ATO logo and had the words 'BAS payment update' in its subject-line, could install malicious code on individuals' computers.
