A computer virus known as VBS.Freelink infected anti-virus software firm Data Fellows on Wednesday, when the firm let its guard down during routine maintenance of its network. The e-mail worm mails itself out to addresses listed in a user's address book, after it infects a system. In this case, an e-mail containing the virus arrived at ZDTV from Data Fellows yesterday. "The virus slipped in when the (information technology) department was working on our equipment," said Tanya Candia, vice president of global marketing. "The department had momentarily disabled our antivirus product." The company joins The Walt Disney Co., which also fell prey to an e-mail worm yesterday when it inadvertently mailed out a virus to reporters. -- Robert Lemos, ZDNN
