AOL job cut frenzy hits iPlanet

Another 500 cuts sends AOL headcount skywards...

The AOL-Sun joint venture iPlanet is to slash 500 jobs as part of AOL's overall cost cutting programme. The iPlanet job cull comes on top of the 1,200 job losses already confirmed by AOL, and will leave the ISP as a minority partner in the alliance. Currently just one third of iPlanet's 3,000 employees are from AOL, with the job cuts reducing that figure to one fifth.
