Appirio picks up DocuSign implementation practice

The first services to emerge from the new relationship will become available in June.

DocuSign has tapped global cloud integrator Appirio to handle implementation, integration, and development services for its cloud-hosted e-signature transaction management technology.

Under the relationship, Appirio will expand its own use of DocuSign internally, and invest in resources that will help it include the services within the solutions it offers. Currently, Appirio has more than 500 enterprise accounts.

Perhaps even more importantly, the alliance also means that DocuSign will become a more integral component for the roughly 75,000 independent cloud developers who participate in CloudSpokes, a community that Appirio uses to help extend the reach of its own technical resources.

"Employees at 90 percent of the Fortune 500 use DocuSign, because it can have a simple but dramatic impact on business operations and the customer experience," said Mike Epner, senior vice president of global services for Appirio, in a statement about the new partnership. "This business impact, combined with the company's close connection with our existing partners Salesforce.com, Workday, and Google, makes DocuSign a natural area for us to expand our capabilities."

To date, more than 310 million documents have been signed on the DocuSign global network, which covers 37 million users in 188 countries. Generally speaking, the platform is used by companies for uploading and managing signatures that would otherwise be managed far more inefficiently using some sort of legacy process.

DocuSign estimates that it is signing up about 60,000 unique "DocuSigners" every day.
