Apple Computer Inc. on Tuesday delivered Mac OS 9.0.4, a consolidation of bug fixes and system-specific tweaks that shipped alongside new hardware such as the revised iBook, iMac DV and the "Pismo" PowerBook G3. The OS upgrade features enhanced FireWire and Universal Serial Bus software as well as a fix to the Mac OS' Sound Manager. While this release represents the official coming-out party for Mac OS 9.0.4, code-named Minuet, some users got their hands on the upgrade in March when Apple inadvertently posted a late beta on a publicly accessible server. -- Matthew Rothenberg, ZDNet News
