AT&T and BT get approvals

AT&T Corp. and British Telecom have received approvals from the U.S. Department of Justice for a planned joint venture, the companies said today.

They still need the approval of the Federal Communications Commission. The companies also said today that Lee Jobe, former president of Citizen Communications, has been named president of the network and systems division of the venture, and that John Polumbo, former president and chief operating officer of Excite Inc., has been named president of global markets for the venture.
