Amazon Web Services said Tuesday that it has cut prices for select instances by about 5 percent for Linux.

The company noted the price reduction in a blog post.

Specifically, AWS is cutting prices for its C4, M4 and R3 Elastic Compute Cloud by about 5 percent for instances running Linux. The price cuts affect most instances in the U.S., Asia Pacific and Europe.

The price cuts for R3 instances are also available in AWS Gov Cloud.

For Windows, SLES and RHEL instances price cuts are in place but smaller. Pricing is retroactive to Jan. 1.
