Telco aims to connect 13 million homes in the UK...

BT wholesale is aiming to halve its ADSL installation price by October 2001 from £150 to £75. Service providers have also benefited from BT dropping its monthly rental charge on its BT IPStream 500 from £35 to £30 in early September. Bruce Stanford, director of broadband for BT Wholesale, said the price reduction is a measure to ensure demand for ADSL "continues to rise". BT claims it will have upgraded 1,000 exchanges by the end of the month connecting 13 million homes across the UK to ADSL exchanges.
