IT services giant Cap Gemini Ernst & Young is to change its name to Capgemini, a company spokesperson said on Thursday.

According to the company's UK Web site, the name change is part of a new €60m global branding campaign.

The campaign, which launched on Thursday morning will continue until the end of the year.

The company's UK Web site is already sporting new livery, with the company's name written as "Capgemini UK".

The media investment will be concentrated on the US market, but also cover Europe (primarily France, the UK, Germany and The Netherlands) as well as the Asian market through pan-regional media. EURO RSCG Worldwide with as its lead agency EURO RSCG C&O were selected for the campaign development.

Cap Gemini Ernst & Young provides consulting, technology and outsourcing services, employs about 55,000 people worldwide and reported global revenues of €5.754bn in 2003. Cap Gemini shareholders approved the Ernst & Young Consulting acquisition in May 2000.
