Nokia sales vice president for South East Asia-Pacific Chris Carr is set to replace the company's existing general manager, Emile Baak, after the latter's two and a half years at the helm.

Nokia's senior vice president and head of global sales, Colin Giles, thanked Baak for his work.

"He has been instrumental in maintaining Nokia's leading position in the region and we wish him all the best," Giles said.

Carr was glad to be coming back down under.

"I'm incredibly excited to be moving back to Australia. It has been a difficult decision to leave Singapore but it's one that will not only benefit my family, but also allow me to re-establish my connections in Australia," Carr said.

Carr is set to start in his new Australian role on 1 January 2011.

Nokia is also appointing Nokia Middle East marketing head Steve Lewis as Australia and New Zealand's head of sales and Greg Clark, who has been managing Nokia's Vodafone NZ account, as head of retail, with both to start immediately.
