New Delhi -- Hughes Software Systems (HSS) has announced the launch of its targeted Internet advertising service, RightServe with the service going 'live' on Cyber India Online (CIOL) last week.

CIOL, a leading Indian IT portal, has chosen RightServe to offer targeted Internet advertising for advertisers on its website, making RightServe the first service of its kind to go 'live' in India.

RightServe, provides the advertiser with total control to define a relevant and interested audience, target banners only at the selected audience and measure the effectiveness of the campaign in real time. Developed by HSS' Internet Development Center at Bangalore, RightServe can be used by online advertisers as well as online publishers.

For online publishers, like CIOL, RightServe achieves significant reduction in banner management overheads. All that publishers need to do is include a standard HTML code in all such places where a banner advertisement has to be shown. RightServe then takes over the responsibility of displaying the appropriate advertisement in the appropriate place enabling publishers to sell a greater percentage of their total inventory without incurring any additional management overheads.

RightServe's targeting parameters and efficient algorithm enable advertisers implement targeted banner advertisement campaigns while leveraging web traffic and improving CPM rates for online publishers.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Arun Kumar, President & Managing Director, HSS, said, "RightServe marks the entry of HSS into the emerging segment of Internet services. This is a logical extension of our skills and strengths in catering to various demands of the telecom OEM segment as well as internet and convergent service providers."

E. Abraham Mathew, President, CIOL, said, "RightServe helps us deliver greater value to advertisers on our site, frees us from the overhead of banner management and thereby help us concentrate all our energies on developing and delivering quality content. We were impressed by the functionality offered by RightServeä, which is of international standards, at an extremely competitive price."

Publishers and advertisers pay only when an ad is delivered through RightServe. HSS has made all the infrastructure investments (hardware, software, people, etc.) required to enable the service. Publishers and advertisers merely need to subscribe to the service and enjoy the benefits of a "pay-per-exposure" plan.

"RightServe has twin benefits for advertisers and publishers. Advertisers can better plan their media expenditure, target and reach a specific audience and thus improve the overall return on investment (ROI) for their advertising spends," said Mr. Sanjeev Gadre, Product Manager, RightServe. "Publishers, benefit from the reduction of management overhead and a more efficient utilisation of total space inventory," he added.
