CN Group picks up NSW DET, OneSteel

Australian IT services company, CN Group, has chalked up some major contract wins, becoming the lead SAP integrator for the new NSW Department of Education and Training (DET) HR/payroll system. The CN Group also won a major SAP transformation contract with mining and manufacturing company, OneSteel.

ZDNet Australia previously reported that the DET was testing a new SAP system to reform its HR and payroll services across TAFE and school offices around NSW.

The CN Group has been appointed by the NSW DET as the lead integrator for the new HR/payroll system integration, along with three other SAP system providers. The deployment also sees additional hosting services provided for the "non-productive and development systems" of the department.

The contract with OneSteel sees the CN Group acting in an advisory role and as official partner in the company's SAP transformation program, employing both the consulting and technology arm of the group.

Brian Pereira, Group CEO of CN Group, said in a statement that he was amazed but not surprised by "what the team had achieved".

"The IT services industry in Australia is incredibly competitive and for us to win DET and OneSteel proves that having the best people and a supportive business culture will lead to success," Pereira added.

The CN Group has also become the only local SAP provider to be awarded the SAP Hosting Accreditation.

Over the last six months, the CN Group has doubled staff numbers within its separate consulting and technology arms, and opened new offices in Newcastle and Brisbane. The group also hinted at a possible expansion in Victoria by 2011.
