Data warehouse appliance upstart plays the green card

Heard today that the Dataupia Satori Server 12000 data warehouse appliance uses about 10 percent of the energy needed by a regular server designed for similar data warehousing applications. Likewise, it uses about half the energy that a SAN would need to store similar types of data.

Heard today that the Dataupia Satori Server 12000 data warehouse appliance uses about 10 percent of the energy needed by a regular server designed for similar data warehousing applications. Likewise, it uses about half the energy that a SAN would need to store similar types of data. Or at least that's what the company figures. The product was introduced last May but has started to market the technology's green credentials more forceably. So, if you're in the market for a data warehouse solution you might want to evaluate.
