A business unit of NCS and its 18 years of experience in managing data centers, Digital Centrix sees itself as being able to offer more than simply Internet Data Center services to their customers. They are also able to provide end-to-end business solutions including consulting, infrastructure integration and other outsourced services.

Their data center is professionally designed with UPS, backup generator, climate control, security systems and round the clock monitoring called “Nerve Center”. Digital Centrix has two Gigabit Ethernet fiber links, each leading to different core routers in Singapore Telecom’s Internet Exchange (Singtel IX), giving them a good degree of redundancy. They also offer dedicated servers as opposed to virtual hosting to customers who expect heavy traffic. The advantage of this type of service is that customers do not own the servers and so are not burdened with maintenance or obsolescence.

Some of their more popular services include storage-on-demand, provided by NCS’ partner Storage Centrix. This is a flexible and cost effective suite of pay-as-you-grow managed storage service that frees customers from worrying about investing, managing and maintaining equipment and instead, only paying for the storage used on a monthly basis.

Another service offered is database-on-demand where customers are charged only as they use the database. This has proved popular with Application Service Providers (ASPs), portals, banks, or other large enterprises.

Charges vary, as they are dependable on factors like user requirements and scope of services they engage. Digital Centrix feels that costing should not be the sole deciding factor when it comes to choosing a service provider. Other factors such as reliability and security of the service provider should also be taken into consideration.
