Europe to iPhone so far: Yawn

 Well, so far, anyway.Reuters is reporting that in spite of a crowd of 200 iPhone purchasers crowding around a T-Mobile shop in downtown Cologne, Germany before the store opened, informal canvasses of citizens near a similar facility in Frankfurt issued shrugs when asked if they planned to buy an iPhone.

Well, so far, anyway.

Reuters is reporting that in spite of a crowd of 200 iPhone purchasers crowding around a T-Mobile shop in downtown Cologne, Germany before the store opened, informal canvasses of citizens near a similar facility in Frankfurt issued shrugs when asked if they planned to buy an iPhone.

The wire service's Nicola Leske and Georgina Prodhan have their theory as to why:

"Away from the hardcore fans, however, Germans in downtown Frankfurt lived up to their reputation for thrift and resistance to hype."

Later today we'll know how different or similar the UK market is.  The devices went on sale there about 30 minutes ago from the time of this post.
