Flash memory market leaders: Samsung, Intel, Toshiba, Spansion

$4.2bn worth of flash memory was sold in Q3 2004, a 4% drop QTQ. This is the first sequential quarterly decrease since Q1 2003. Samsung flash memory sales amounted to $990 mln, 3.3% increase QTQ. Samsung received 24.8% of flash memory market. In Q3 2004 Intel sold $639 mln worth of flash memory, up 8.9% from Q2, to account for 16% of the flash memory sold worldwide. Toshiba commanded 14.6% of the market, revenues grew by 1% and hit $582 mln. Spansion revenue came to $538m, a 20.1% drop from Q2. Company's market share dropped to 13.5%.
