Broadband policies are emerging as a point of difference between the two major parties ahead of this weekend's election.

Paul Budde was critical of the Coalition's new broadband policy on last week's program. To help even the balance I invited Liberal MP Paul Fletcher to ZDNet Australia for a half-hour video interview, so he could explain the policy in detail.

Fletcher is no stranger to telecommunications. He was minister for communications for Richard Alston and spent eight years as director of corporate and regulatory affairs at Optus.
