Ford finds its car sales hybridizing
Ford hybrids lift company's car sales in September, bucking industry slump.

Today, Ford Motor Company announced their hybrid sales for the month of September were up 78 percent from the same period in 2008. This is during a month where overall car sales dropped in the U.S. - as expected after the expiration of the Cash for Clunkers program. Ford says the sales increase is due largely to introductions of the new 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid and Mercury Milan Hybrid. Ford also points out that their hybrid Escape taxis are increasingly used in New York City and San Francisco.
Here's the Ford Fusion website. They list at just under $20,000 for their smallest, simplest model. But over $28,000 for the hyrbid.
