Job cuts are expected to contribute to Fujitsu's return to operating profit for the coming financial year. The company expects to save $1.05bn through staff cuts totalling 22,000 and other cost savings. It expects this to have a positive effect on its operating profit for this year. In addition, growth within the company will be led by its software service operations. Year-end financial results for 2001 are expected to show a $562m operating loss. Official financial targets for 2002 will be released in late April.
