Google Docs, Sheets finally get iPad Pro support

An obvious feature has finally come to the iPad Pro -- Apple's "business iPad". However, there's still one feature missing.

Google's Docs and Sheets apps, which allow users to create and edit Word and Excel files on iOS, were updated Tuesday with native resolution support for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro

The updates are available on the App Store, landing noticeably late, months after the iPad Pro was released in November.

The update on Tuesday also adds support for the word count -- an obviously needed feature -- and fixes unnamed bugs. The update comes in the wake of a series of fixes to YouTube's app earlier this month.

But notably missing from the update is Split View, an iPad Pro feature that allows users to split screen apps.

Google has been focused on keeping its apps feature-rich on iOS, a competing platform, and is open about its many iOS app development teams.
