The geniuses at ReplayTV have come up with the ultimate toy for busy people, sports fanatics, and TV junkies. ReplayTV is a personal television server allowing you to pause, rewind, fast forward, and completely customize live TV. Big deal? Well, it is a big deal considering a device with so much to offer is so much easier to operate than your good old VCR. ReplayTV's tag line: Prime time. Any time.

The Set Up

You've heard the VCR cliché one too many times, but like most people, I too am ignorant to the ways of VCR programming -- ignorant and apathetic I should add. So I was a bit intimidated when I set out to install this monolithic black box to my TV/VCR "home entertainment center."

This is no plug-and-play situation. Setting up my ReplayTV 2001 was like setting up a multi-component stereo system. The step-by-step instructions walked me through the wiring process. Although the process itself wasn't all that difficult, it did manage to be my biggest hurdle in the entire ReplayTV experience. However, a call to their friendly tech support, and about 45 minutes later I was on my way.
