After some rumors of an Apple/HBO tie up yesterday, Apple today announced that HBO content will be available for download today. This is great news because two of my favorite shows are Flight of the Conchords and The Wire. (I've been resisting Rome, but will eventually get sucked into that one too, I'm sure.)
The interesting development in today's announcement is that Apple has moved away from their flat-rate pricing model of US$1.99 each for television shows in an apparent concession to HBO. Rome, The Sopranos and Deadwood cost $2.99 each (a 50 percent price hike) while The Wire, FOTC and Sex in the City cost US$1.99 each.
