Right now, I am in the middle of packing to go to the Internet Telephony Conference & Expo in Los Angeles.

I am scheduled to moderate two panels with lots of VoIP industry decision makers.

My purpose in this post is to ask you what you would like to know. If I sense a groundswell of curiousity in one or two directions, or one of you posts a question that really throws my hair (and the fused and burnt circuits underneath my hair) back, then by Jiminy, I will ask it.

The first panel, "VoIP: Where We're Going, Where We've Been" is on Tuesday. We'll be covering the essential technical differences between traditional telephony and IP telephony, the challenges that these differences present and the way they are overcome in successful real-life deployments.

Here's a list of panelists:

David Duffett
Head of Learning & Development
Aculab

Adrian van Haaften
Chief Marketing Officer
CallWave

Keith Weiner
CEO
DiamondWare

Dmitry Stafeev
Regional Sales Manager, North America
MERA Systems

Madhu Yarlagadda
Senior Engineering Director for Yahoo! Messenger
Yahoo! Messenger

Tim Connelly
Managing Principal - Professional Consulting - Lucent Worldwide Services (LWS)
Lucent Technologies

Jason Talley
President & CEO
Nuvio

Raymond Vilis
VP Product Line Management
Versatel Networks

Timothy Lorello
Chief Marketing Officer

Tell me what you want to know. And guess what. I will tell you what they say.
