Co-developed with Real3D, the Intel740 chip is optimised for Pentium II-based systems with AGP support and promises 'arcade-quality' 3D games performance in mainstream systems.

Intel said it has worked with application developers in games, CAD and DVD fields to support the graphics chip.

The Intel740 will be available in volume this month.
