SINGAPORE - Check Point Software Technologies Ltd and Internet Security Systems (ISS) a provider
of security management solutions for the Internet, announced that ISS has chosen Check Point SiteManager-1
as its managed security solution to address the needs of the small-to-medium size business (SMB) market.
With SiteManager-1, SMB customers can now employ the same market-leading security that was previously available
only to large enterprise customers.
"Adding SiteManager-1 to our managed security services offerings is another step for ISS to enable the broader
market of companies and organization to conduct e-business safely online," said Allen Vance, offer management
director for ISS.
According to market analyst firm International Data Corporation, the security market for managed security services
is expected to grow to US$2.24 billion by 2003.
"Security is an absolute necessity in business today, and security outsourcing is becoming a popular choice
for many small and medium businesses," said Scott Steigerwald, vice president global accounts, Check Point
Software Technologies.
SiteManager-1 enables service providers and telcos to address the high-growth market for delivering managed Internet
security and VPN services to small and medium size businesses.
SiteManager-1 is a combination of a comprehensive, centralized management system at the provider network operations
center with integrated VPN/security capabilities currently available today on the Nokia appliance at the customer
premises.
SiteManager-1 is based on Check Point's Secure Virtual Network (SVN) architecture and is designed to significantly
lower a service provider's cost of ownership and deployment for managed VPN and firewall services.
