Technology stocks gave up their gains at midday Friday as profit warnings from Palm and Dell put a damper on the week's Fed enthusiasm.

The Nasdaq slid 3.52 to 2,190.16, and the Dow Jones industrial average fell 34.48 to 11,214.10.
